The voice of prejudice is loud and clear. How can a hetrosexual man begin to experience or empathise with a gay man. Homosexuality is not a tendency or a prediliction. It is an orientation which affects a small perentage of the population both male and female. It has been with us since time immemorial. For centuries it has been misunderstood or swept under the carpet. It needs to be properly and symapthetically addressed. I believe the Pope has taken the courage to do this, followed by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Men of profound prayer are speaking out in an attempt to embrace gay people. They do this in the face of those who demean people. Homosexuality is not an intrinsic disorder. It is a sexual orientation, brought about, not out of choice but a given fact of life. Gay people are created in this manner. Incidently I am a supporter of the Latin Mass. I prefer to worship God in reverence, beauty and with dignity.
